Make a date for this years shows
South Wales Margam Park Friday 12th-Sunday 14th June
and the second North Wales Boat Show
Fri 24th - Sun 26th July at The Vaynol Estate Bangor!

The South Wales Boat Show returns to Margam Park for a 4th year! Once again, it will be the Biggest and Best in Wales, and are proud that it represents the Welsh and UK marine industry.

The last three shows have been very well attended at Margam Park, have a look at the TV coverage covering the show. Once again we had the sun beating down on the beautiful Welsh countryside for the 3rd South Wales Boat Show. On the 13-15th June which saw thousands of visitors descend on Margam Park, near Port Talbot for the boat show. A range of attractions were offered throughout the weekend including Studds fairground, a shipwreck on Aberavon beach for the kids with a play area and huge sandpit, Six knot Challenge, father's day sea shanty singing contest! and multitude of chandlery stalls and over 300 craft from major and local manufacturers on display. Over 1,000 people enjoyed rides on the Margam Park lake aboard jet ski's, zapcats, sailing dinghies and other craft. All these will be back for the 2009 show plus several new attractions.

We have again had loads of brilliant feed back from Visitors and many of the companies from within the industry who we try to represent here with excellent sales and further new Exclusive New Product launches too. We work hard all year to make the event develop and we are delighted that again we had even more Exhibitors as well as public attend the show. The come and try was run by Swansea WaterSports and kindly supported by National Boat Shows and put a record number of families on the water too! We are Please to confirm we are still taking bookings for this year's show running from the Friday the 12th of June- Sunday the 14th June 2009

The 3rd South Wales Boat Show at Margam Park was really well supported with another record attendance of just on 14,000 visitors despite the fuel shortages we had another action packed week end. The show opened on Friday at 10.00 with an official opening with M.D. of National Boat Show's Andrew Williams and several V.I.P.'s at 11.00. We are again very grateful for the massive support of so many Welsh ,U.K. and European Companies and individuals who have supported our show to really put the Welsh and U.K. Marine industry on the map in South Wales. This year we have even more Exhibitors and products that attended our event, we made our target again for the 3rd year of just on 200 different companies being represented and with only hours to go, we were still getting bookings!, our further extended and fully carpeted 6,000sq foot Main Marquee was sold out again and with over 275 craft on display. It was very clear from the feed back we have had since and during the show, that there is no where else in Wales where you could see the massive selection and range of products on offer again. We are very proud that our family run show in Three years has grown to become clearly the biggest regional boat show of its type in the UK.

SpongeBob SquarePants Confirmed for Saturday & Sunday.

We were delighted to have a very special V.I.P. for all families attending this years South Wales Boat Show.

Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants who was pleased to meet the whole family on the Barkers Leisure Stand. He made loads of appearances to meet and greet with photos for all through out the day during the show on both Saturday and Sunday

Over the years the show has helped the industry in being an excellent venue to market products. Last year Prosser Marine recorded the biggest individual sale of the South Wales boat show with a £280,000 Fairline powerboat and many more confirmed orders. The success of our show didn't stop there either with sales reported from newly launched GGF Falklands fast fisher, RibX, Pembrokeshire Sports Boats, Pictons confirmed their best show to date and Bayliner confirmed sales of over 6 craft. Generally all exhibitors reported excellent sales and many took confirmed orders for craft at the show. The end result meaning that most have rebooked along with several new companies who are looking forward to welcoming you on their stands at this years show in June!!!.

Atlantic Adventurer

James Ketchell

Come and visit James Ketchell and his boat, that he is rowing 2931 miles across the Atlantic ocean alone and unaided in. This will involve 70 - 80 days in his boat with only himself and the deep blue ocean for company as James endeavours to cross from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua. Christopher Colombus followed a similar route when he discovered America back in 1492. He took just under 3 months to do it. With the help of the Trade Winds James hopes to complete the crossing in a similar time when he sets off in December 2009.

Incredible as it might seem we have sent more people into space and back than we have across the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat, Ocean rowing crossings are few and far between, indeed, more people have reached the summit of Mount Everest and have been into space than have rowed across one of the Earths oceans.

Also James is hoping this epic adventure will raise upwards of £50,000 for a fantastic children's charity, the NSPCC.

The South Wales Boat are pleased to support James, and hope you will too!
