James Ketchell
Come and visit James Ketchell and his boat, that he is rowing 2931 miles across the Atlantic ocean alone and unaided in. This will involve 70 - 80 days in his boat with only himself and the deep blue ocean for company as James endeavors to cross from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua. Christopher Columbus followed a similar route when he discovered America back in 1492. He took just under 3 months to do it. With the help of the Trade Winds James hopes to complete the crossing in a similar time when he sets off in December 2009.
Incredible as it might seem we have sent more people into space and back than we have across the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat, Ocean rowing crossings are few and far between, indeed, more people have reached the summit of Mount Everest and have been into space than have rowed across one of the Earths oceans.
Also James is hoping this epic adventure will raise upwards of £50,000 for a fantastic children's charity, the NSPCC.

The South Wales Boat are pleased to support James, and hope you will too!
RNLI Charity Stand
With more people using the sea and
beach for pleasure than ever before, the demands placed on RNLI crews and
lifeguards have never been greater. in 2009 South Wales used the R.N.L.I.
more time than ever before!
So please dig deep and help the RNLI to continue to be able to provide the
first class service.
Tom McNally
Tom McNally, who is well known for sailing in some very small craft to raise money for charity will be at the show with his latest craft ! Its a mere 3 foot 10 inches long - smaller than most coffee tables! Tom plans were revealed in a short interview where he said " I'm confident it will be up to the job it was designed for - a definitive two-way Atlantic crossing from Europe to the US and back to the UK." he went on to say
"I've teamed up with the registered charity SAIL4CANCER and hope through their organization to raise some funds to help combat the insidious disease." We Wish to say a massive thank you to so many of the exhibitors who donated equipment and Money to help him, also a big thank you to the visitors who filled his bucket with coins and notes! thank you for your help in supporting him !
