After the huge success of our first show here in South Wales we used the format for the Second "South Wales Boat Show". We used the same formula as before, bringing together all aspects of water sports, and even more family orientated entertainment to keep all membersof the family entertained to retain people in the showground. At the close of this years show (2007) we had fantastic feed back from an overwhelming number of exhibitors who collectively grossed over £2.3M of sales, way exceeding the 2006 shows total of £1.2M. which in turn has given us over 30 firm bookings from this years show already many exhibitors have massively increased their stand space for the 2008 show. Again we are delighted to confirm our continue sponsorship for national marketing support of Wales Water Sports, Tourism Swansea Bay, the massive regional Radio advertising support of Swansea Sound and The Wave who are owned by U.T.V and Sailing Today Magazine - Essential Reading for all Cruising Sailors again have promised to support us with national marketing across the marine industry in the U.K. For 2008 we are also would like to welcome aboard CSL Publishing who produce a number of Marine publications such as Sports Boat & Rib magazine, Boat Mart, All at Sea and Boat & Yacht buyer as a sponsor who exhibited with us last year, and Several Marine publications and national and local newspapers who will also be running features and adverts in the lead up to the show. We have also had prine time Television news and feature coverage from HTV Wales and S4C and Channel 4 which increases the shows exposure to a huge audience all over Wales. The venue of Margam Park was highly commended by both Exhibitors, Press and Public and provides us with an amazing venue that we can comfortably grow into in further years. It also has superb views of the Bristol Channel the South Wales Boat show is ideally situated. Margam Park is only minutes away from Junction 38 of the M4 and between Cardiff and Swansea and is only 90 minutes away from Haverford west and Fishguard.
You may already know, South Wales prides itself on a large contingent of Marinas, Sailing Schools and clubs ranging from dinghy to yacht racing. There has been an explosion of water born activities in South Wales since the Cardiff bay re- development and with a vast cash injection being spent in Haverford west, Swansea and Milford Haven marinas expanding along with the new regeneration of Swansea Docks in SA1 which will make it one of the biggest marinas in the UK!! Amazingly a recent survey has quoted Wales having the highest percentage of the population having a watersport interest than any where else in the UK !!! Lets Bring it on!!
